Review: All These Things I’ve Done

All These Things I’ve Done is a heart wrenching love story that left me in tears. The story takes place in the year 2083, after the world has deteriorated quite a bit and life is hard. Everything from candles to meat is rationed. In the midst of this world is Anya Balanchine, daughter of the notorious Leonyd Balanchine, former head of an illegal chocolate business. After the death of her mother and father, Anya must take care of her younger sister, mentally challenged brother, and old and dying grandmother. With the pressure of her shady family trying to close in on her family, it seems as if life  couldn’t get any harder for Anya. That is, until she falls in love with the son of the new assistant district attorney, Win Delacroix. With all these  problems, Anya must protect her family at all costs. Will she be able to follow the path of love along the way? With a heart-breaking conclusion, All These Things I’ve Done is one of my top ten favorite books of 2011.
