Every Day

by David Levithan

Every DayEvery day, A wakes up in a new body and a new life. A has no relationships that last longer than a day, no personal goals beyond leaving the host’s life as undamaged as possible each night. It has always been this way. But one day A falls in love with a girl named Rhiannon and everything is changed, forcing A to grapple with the complex emotional and ethical implications of such a unique and untethered existence.

We’ve been very excited about this book ever since the first copy fell into our hands. Here are some of our thoughts on it:

David Levithan has the power of transporting to a new world and making you fall in love with characters in the shortest books I’ve ever read and loved. Every Day is no different. A is a character I will never regret, and his relationship with Rhiannon is one that is unique and beautiful in it’s own way. It tests our definition of love, and shows the extents people are willing to go to spend every day with the person they love.

Right from the start I realized this was no ordinary book. It has a concept that I have never heard of. This book is refreshing to read after reading many books with the same concept. I really enjoyed this book. The way the author wrote a different story line in each chapter is uncanny. David is an amazing writer.

Of course, with a book this good, we’re not the only ones talking about it. Here’s a video on Entertainment Weekly where A hops from one famous teen author to another:
