Review: Colin Fischer

Colin, a teenager with Asperger’s syndrome, is starting high school. He doesn’t like to be touched, he doesn’t like the color blue, and he writes everything down in his journal. He manages to land on Wayne Connelly’s bad side quickly, and gets his head shoved in a toilet. But when a gun goes off in the cafeteria one day and Wayne is blamed, Colin becomes his only hope for clearing his name.

Colin Fischer is a fun YA mystery that appeals to all age groups. There’s an engaging cast of characters, from Colin the modern-day Sherlock Holmes, Danny the angry and attention-deprived little brother, their parents who want to help Colin but sometime get frustrated, even Wayne, who turns out not to be so bad. The book is funny, fast-paced and sprinkled with footnotes. If you’re looking for a laugh and a quick read, check out this book.
