Review: Scarlet

Scarlet picks up where Cinder left off, but a new character is introduced- a farm girl from Paris. Cinder is trying to escape prison, and Scarlet is on the hunt for her missing Grandmother. Marissa Meyer doesn’t disappoint with her new twist on the favorite classic fairy tale, Little Red Riding Hood, and she truly makes it her own. With the introduction of some new characters, and the reappearance of old ones, Scarlet is one book you don’t want to miss.

The introduction of Scarlet’s story is flawless. Scarlet is a kick-butt, hard core thing of awesomeness. She has a strength that is only paralleled by Cinders. Meyer flowed Scarlet’s story-line so seamlessly in with Cinder’s that you could tell the work that went into the planning of how she would integrate these two stories. It was done perfectly. There’s a little bit of romance, a bit of adventure, and of course plenty of action!

Scarlet is for anyone who enjoyed Cinder and likes sci-fi, robots, aliens, and romance! Read this one, and you won’t be disappointed!
