Eleanor: With red hair and an interesting sense of fashion, she can’t help but stand out. And in the Flats, standing out is never a good thing. It’s hard to make a friend when being constantly bullied. The eldest of five kids, her home life is anything but amazing. Eleanor can’t help but feel her life is going nowhere but downhill. Then she met Park.

Park: Park has lived in the Flats his entire life. A half Korean, he’s never really fit in. He knows that the only way to escape this town relatively unscathed is to lay low and coast through the middle. It’s the unspoken law. At least it was, until that stupid redhead with the crazy clothes stepped onto his bus and turned his world upside down.

Eleanor was never happy until she met Park. Park never really knew himself until he met Eleanor. Everything about them is unconventional and the odds are forever against them. This is the story about their love and the hardships they must face.

I absolutely adored this book. I’ve never really been a huge fan of realistic fiction (fantasy has always called my name), but this book is so well written. The part I loved most, however, was that the characters slowly fall in love over the course of the entire book and their relationship isn’t perfect by any means.  It makes the story so much more believable.
