Review: The 5th Wave

What happens if aliens invade, and they win? What happens after the battle? What is the world like? Cassie has lived though the 1st wave, survived the 2nd, escaped the 3rd wave, and responded accordingly to the 4th. Trust No One. In this post apocalyptic world, all she can do is live day by day, and survive the terrors of the night. The only thing holding her together, alone in the woods, is the though of saving her older brother, taken before the 4th wave. Our spunky heroine creates an amazing 1st person narration with a sarcastic tongue that will make anyone chuckle. After setting out, Cassie will break her own mantra. Mysterious, and interested in helping, with a identity twist that will leave all surprised, Ethan joins her on her quest to find her brother. He story continues by following the story of Ben, a boy sick with the disease of the 2nd plague, and he is not alone, in a fast paced action, and stunning detail, this journey will follow many perspectives on this new world and Cassie’s quest. Find your own convictions in this story of survival, love, and family as Cassie travels and searches for her brother. I really loved 5th wave. It was interesting, thought provoking book. The author does an amazing job showing the mental state of Cassie after the destruction of the world. It adds a hard, real edge to the book that would not have been received otherwise. Along with the amazing character development, the author will bring to life the invasion in flashbacks and show us just how much Hollywood has dulled the harsh reality. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I have.
