The festival is sure to be loads of fun this year and we are definitely ending it with a bang! We have one of the best writers in fantasy and one of the most established writer in contemporary teen fiction. There is never a dull moment at the fest, and we are keeping the fun and frivolity going until the very end! Be sure to stick around all day so you don’t miss David Levithan and Libba Bray, our festival closing speakers!

Libba Bray

Libba Bray, a UT graduate (Hook ‘Em!) is an experienced and acclaimed author, most recently for her series The Diviners, featuring 17 year-old Evie, and set against the background of the Roarin’ 20’s. In the first book, The Diviners, Evie is sent to live with her uncle, a curator at a museum in New York City. However, among movie theaters, pickpockets and glamorous Ziegfield girls, Evie and her uncle find themselves in the middle of a bone chilling investigation involving the murders of several people and a serial killer spirit on the loose. Through it all, Evie’s secret power might just be the only thing that can assist them. This horror, fantasy, period piece might be just perfect for what readers are looking for. Evie’s story, and the supporting cast, continue their amazing adventures and paranormal inquiries in the second book, Lair of Dreams, which Libba will be talking about during the festival!

David Levithan

David Levithan is known as an author who has a firm grasp of modern-day teens and what some of the pitfalls and tribulations of love and life are. Most recently, his book Another Day hit shelves, and it is the flip side of the bestseller Every Day. Another Day features the life of teenager Rhiannon. After she spends just one perfect day with her otherwise distant and volatile boyfriend Justin, he shows up the next day with no recollection of it at all. Riannon, confused and longing for another day like the last, begins to question her surroundings until one day, she is told that the Justin she spent her perfect day with wasn’t the Justin she knew. This companion novel is another exciting new look at love, truth and reality.
