Dear Martin by Nic Stone

Review by: Ivy

Terrifyingly real and heartbreakingly honest, this is a story that might as well be true. Justyce is an emotional and relatable character, no matter what your skin color is. Nic Stone is an extremely talented writer, and while her word choice may seem simplistic, it fits the style of the book and doesn’t take away from the quality of the storytelling. Dear Martin can easily go up their with civil rights YA authors such as Angie Thomas and Jason Reynolds. I can’t wait to see what Nic Stone will do next. Rating: Five/Five

For Fans Of: The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas, All American Boys by Jason Reynolds, March by James Lewis
