Teen Press Corps member, Lizzie, was out at the Keynote Panel featuring the authors of Dry, Neal and Jarrod Shusterman. Here’s what she learned:
- The panel mainly covered their new book, Dry, and what happens when a Southern California suburban area runs out of water.
- The father and son duo also addressed their future projects, such as a screenplay for Dry, another collaborative novel, and the film adaptation of Scythe.
- The pair kept the conversation interesting, saying that they find it satisfying to put characters through the ringer and that while writing every book, there is a “hit by the truck” moment in which he kills off every character by having them get runover.
- The writing process for their first collaborative novel went smoothly, and the two are looking forward to future works together.
