Review: The Diviners

I was a little hesitant on reading this book because I am not of big fan of her books. However, The Diviners takes a  completely different approach then any of Libba’s other books. I was thoroughly surprised throughout the book. The Diviners changed my view on Libba Bray. She brings out a completely different world in the 1920s. Back when everything was simple and easy she turns Evie’s life in to a mess. Evie is a girl with special powers. She can see events that are  connected to a certain object when she touches it. At a party in her hometown, she shows her powers which gets her in a lot of trouble. Her parents send her to live with her Uncle who owns a Museum of weird things. After Evie arrives, a string of murders begin to disrupt the city. She helps investigate the murders with her Uncle and his assistant. Can they figure out who is behind the killings before the whole city is destroyed?

The Diviners add a new take on a horror story with supernatural powers. I really enjoyed reading The Diviners and recommend it to anyone, even people who are not fans of her previous series.
